TEC Cable Head (Tubing Encapsulated)
Global Dynamic’s Capillary Encapsulated Cable Head is used with capillary wireline. Using a Capillary wireline (TEC or SEC) is becoming more common which made GDI develop a cable head to run downhole equipment with TEC cable.
The Cable head creates a termination point for the capillary and creates an electrical connection to the tools that are being run below it in the well. Our Capillary Encapsulated Cable-Head is designed with a shock-mounted flow activated disconnect, which serves as an emergency release in case the tools become stuck in the well. Dual Check Valves and packing elements create well control in the tool to prevent any flow up the coiled tubing.
The Lower Pack-off sub creates a chamber which allows the TEC cable to be terminated and connected to an electrical connection that is not affected by wellbore or pumped fluid. The Cable-head can be run in temperatures up to 302°F (150°C) and under pressure up to 10,000 PSI (70MPa). Tool sizes available are 1.750” (44.5mm) and 2.875” (73mm) OD.
